While I was walking at The globe, I saw this place so I took some pictures. I actually didn't buy anything since they don't look yummy to me. Plus, I can get this type of baked goods at some Mexican places for under $2.T&Y Bakery6333 W 3rd St, Stall 222Los Angeles, CA 90036(323) 930-2355 http://www.farmersmarketla.com/http://www.yelp.com/biz/t-and-y-bakery-los-angeles

    22 Jan 2012 | 3:58 am
I like IOTA. Drinks are good. I LOVE Misutgaru shake and Almond shake. Coffee drinks are good too. Desserts are depends on what you get. I don't recommend chiffon cakes or cakes that using sponge. sponge cakes are dry, not good. Now they have the servers (Yes, you have to wait to get seated and I HATE it.) and also the prices are higher if you eat here. If you wanna save money, get drinks and pastries to go.Food is only served until 10pm.  CLICK HERE for pics from opening eventMisutgaru shake$6.75 and Apple berry tea $5Red Velvet cream cheese cake$4.75Macaron $2.50My friend crushed it.
  • Purple Wine & Coffee - Koreatown

    17 Jan 2012 | 1:19 am
It's opened last month, new wine and coffee bar/cafe in Koreatown. I like ambiance and decor.  The service was slow but they were nice. Also don't be mad even they make so many mistakes. So there were 4 of us. 2 of us used buy 1 get 1 free coupon, and one used either 40% off wine or half off food. So either wine was 40% off or tempura was $6.I ordered hazelnut iced coffee $4 and green tea latte $5. After buy 1 get 1 free, my total was $3. Yup, something is not right. I know. They were messing up our bills and orders a lot. I was just checking my receipt, they charged me hot hazelnut…

There is no denying that in these modern times, athletes are considered heroes and icons to thousands, sometimes millions, of people. Indeed, even compared to the idols we make of celebrities and musicians, athletes remain our anointed heroes. They often come with back stories that are the stuff of movies (sometimes literally) with tales of overcoming poverty, racism, broken homes, and a variety of other hard knocks. And most of all, athletes remind us of the human potential. They show us the human form in perfection. They dazzle us with their almost super-human abilities. And it’s…

  • Biggest question following SOTU: Where’s the women?

    Sin City Siren
    24 Jan 2012 | 11:08 pm
Maybe I missed it in the 10 minutes it took me to wrangle my toddler to bed (7pm bedtime makes for a distraction-heavy 6pm State of the Union viewing), but after President Obama left the building I kept wondering — where were the women in his speech? True, there was the one gem quote: Women should get equal pay for equal work. Thank you, Captain Obvious. I think I can speak for my long-dead grandmother — an OBGYN nurse and a single mother who raised three daughters on a Midwestern cattle farm — to say, “You mean you still don’t have equal pay in 2012? What are…

    24 Jan 2012 | 12:54 am
Ever since I was a kid, I have always been fond of making “mixed tapes” and finding the perfect match of mood and music. And sometimes I get inspiration from the most random or seemingly droll places — like the Republican primary ballot, for instance. But the more I’ve been thinking about it, the more it makes sense. After all, politicians use music all the time to evoke certain feelings and convey messages — from Bill Clinton’s use of Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop as an anthem during the 1992 presidential campaign to Michele Bachmann’s…

  • Mob boss, Line 1!

    27 Jan 2012 | 3:46 pm
On Feb. 14, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, better known as the Mob Museum, will open its doors. It's been a pet project of former mayor Oscar Goodman from the start, and he's been an unabashed cheerleader for the attraction. But how will the museum that Goodman was so instrumental in bringing into existence depict Goodman's own role in the battle between cops and capos? Will this former lawyer for organized crime figures be portrayed merely as a mob mouthpiece? Or more on the order of a kosher consigliere? Will Oscar's image get kid-glove treatment because of his…

An odd thing that transpired a block away from the marshals, floats and drill teams surging down Las Vegas Boulevard on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 16. Police officers quietly arrested two suspected gang members, and detained several others, during an otherwise peaceful parade.

The Bowl game between LSU and Alabama was super for college football fans, but it pales in comparison to the truly biggest football game of the year. If ever there was an excuse to visit Indiana, Sunday February 12, 2012 would be it. For the rest of us, we have the luxury of flying (or driving) to Las Vegas to watch the division champions meet. Vegas always has a lot to offer any football fan. Especially for fans who enjoy plush leather seats, gourmet food, a full bar and a cozy room upstairs.
